Car/Motorbike, Will OR take?

Hi All,
We're filing for Br hopefully in Feb, Just wanted to ask , my car is a Ford Focus year 2000, not sure on it's worth but it has dints and scrapes in the body work, and problem with the electrics, never let me down though, but stalls alot.
Also my DH has a 2005 Suzuki Van Van 125cc Motorbike, his mother purchased this for him a few months ago at the cost of `1295 Pounds.
I work nights 3 times a week, finishing at 7.30am my DH starts work at 8am, so i need my car to get home in time for him to use his bike to get to work. Is this a good enough reason...and the OR won't take my car or his bike?
Thanks

If you both need vehicles for work the or should exempt both, but there's no guarantee However, if your OH's mum bought the bike you could argue the case that she is the owner, not OH. Who's name is the receipt in?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0

not sure about receipt but its registered to my DH, and his mum paid via cheque for it? If she can prove this with a bank statement or something is it safe? should i re register the bike back into her name?
Thanks0 -
If she can provide proof with bank statements that's good,
Don't bother changing name on registration document, quite common for insurance purposes to be in different name to the owner (and changing it now would mean OR digging around)0 -
We really do need them, as even when we move to rental it would be 2 buses for me to get to work and back, and that would be a 9.30 at night and 7.30 in morning, and i wouldn't get home in time for hubby to get to work for his job.0

thanks,
I will leave it, but she will have her bank statement so we can argue thats its her's but bought for his use?
Is that ok?0 -
On your forms put it under the bit that says 'do you have use of a vehicle owned by someone else' (or words to that effect)Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
