Income Tax Help

Hi All,

I need a bit of help regarding Income tax - I am approaching the 40% tax band and want to know if there is anything I can do to avoid it. The reason being is that I will take home less than I was earning in my previous tax band. Can I ask my employer not to give me a bonus, so I wont go into this tax band??????

Many Thx in advance

Natalieta

You won't take home less - it's just that the extra pay will be less than at lower earning levels.

The 40% is only on the excess over the band limit, not on everything you earn
  • Oh I see, thanks very much I was beginning to worry, this site is great and such a quick reply.

    Thanks Again
