Hi did anyone catch where to buy the ham hocks in brine Phil has just cooked on This Morning? I caught the price was about £1.20 but not where to get them!
I love ham hocks but find them really hard to get hold of.
thanks for any advice

I have got some from morrisons butchers in the past, though I haven't bought any for a while.

Any decent butcher will be able to sort you a ham hock.
I wish media chefs wouldn't keep going on about them though -the price will go up.0 -
I usually get mine from the local butchers but I have occasionally seen them in MrTs0

We call them ham shanks here - I have always used them as the meat on them is really sweet and nice. I get mine from the local butchers, but have noticed that the price has gone up to £1.99 lately. Someone on Market kitchen did one last night and took the fat off once it was cooked, scored and salted it and then put it in a hot oven and made the most amazing looking crackling. She also made a glaze for the shank with equal parts maple syrup and cider vinegar and some mustard powder - she boiled them together for about 20 minutes until the glaze was super syrupy - it looked amazing, served jacket potatoes and cabbage.Jane

Hear, hear!! There are times that you could happily strangle them .
Think I'd better get stocked up with them before the inevitable happens !0 -
I get mine from Morrisons and if you cook in slow cooker you get a pot of stock at the same time :jA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Jenid - do you have to soak them first to get rid of the salt before putting them in the slow cooker?0
