Marthasdad wrote: »Thanks Jes - they haven't requested an SOA - my main worry is that I still bank with HBOS and, when I got made redundant a couple of years ago (at the time I was stupidly running up debts) they went into my bank account and took all my redundancy payout!! I argued with them and they paid some back to enable me to live for a few months, but it still cleared a big chunk off the balance.
I'm worried that they will just take a load of money out just after I get paid and leave me with nothing for the month - I don't htink i can get an account anywhere else as I've got a terrible credit rating due to the aforementioned stupidity!
Any advice?Barclaycard 3800

Halifax can at any time empty your account as its in their terms and conditions to do this, the only money they can't take is benefit money.Never underestimate the power of the techno-geek...0

The idea of a basic bank account is that there is no credit check. Will find the link to the list of options. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

A DCA can ask for what ever they feel like , they could ask for a card at Christmas . But there is absolutely no compulsion for you to do a SOA for a DCA . If a case went to court , the Judge may very well request one. But it is up to you if you supply one to a Parasitical DCA . No doubt BH will be on shortly to belittle this post .0

It is not in anyones interest to refuse to send a SOA, all it will do is make them think you have more money available. Yes I understand that people feel upset at having to do it but why set yourself up for more stress. In the case of Blair Oliver Scott they will even send you the sheet to write it on and a pre paid envelope to send it back.
They arn't a DCA as such anyway they are the debt recovery team of Bank of Scotland acting on their own behalf, not a company that bought the debt for pennies.Barclaycard 3800

Well that did not take you long .
Infact I have had dealings with B O S ! And they did not take me to court after several threatening letters to do so, they actually passed it another DCA , who inturn closed the account when they realised I HAD NOT BEEN SUPPLIED A COPY OF A CCA .0 -
