Thanks all..yes the new plasterers are very good..so that's a relief!!!!...had a phonecall from the bed shop to say the new bed has arrived so they are holiding on to it for me until the room is decorated. The plasterers reckon they'll be finished tomorrow(I think they are a little optomistic myself)...2 days to mirror finish 3 whole rooms..knock out a ceiling and plasterboard and skim it.....
Not a lot else to report here...£25 off my virgin card earlier but haven't updated my sig yet.0 -

Hi LT..you sure have!!!....the team I have now seem better. All thanks to DD as she works at the gym there are a lot of members that are tradesmen and because she's worked there nearly 5 years she's friendly with loads of them.
I feel guilty for letting the other one go but he wasn't up to the job.
My tip is never employ anyone on a day rate as they take the pee!!!...best on a fixed price for the job.It also helps that there's a recession as they are a bit slow with work at the moment. As these lads are probably really busy usually.
It's hard though finding proper tradesmen that you can trust though as there are loads of cowboys out there.0 -
I know exactly what you mean Taxi, the things we put up with when someone is in our home and often it is just becaues we want the job done. I think that's why substandard workmen get away with it at times.
After that long rambling bit, glad you are getting it sorted.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Ditto glad to hear you seem to have some decent workmen in. I bet it will be fabulous when all done.:j0
