Halifax changed their criteria last week to 80% on new build properties for owner occupation, so just RBS/Natwest dealing at 90% as far as I'm aware (houses only of course!)
  • Do RBS accept Vendor gifted deposits?
  • new build prices are no where near in line with current values. you will be in negative within 6 months with 20% deposit

It all depends on the siutation.

The house im buying i have managed to get 25% lower than the same house on the development sold in November 2007.

And its a better plot. IMO
  • not sure but how abt giving HSBC a call? good luck!

If the developer is offering 5% to your deposit (offering, not lending to you - don't know if this is the case), then you might be better asking them to drop the asking price by 5%...

On new builds now, most lenders are now basing lending on resale value and not purchase price...the OP will struggle with what he is trying to do

    BUMP :)

We have 5% deposit, builder giving us 5%. Looking to keep our current house and rent out.

Is there any lenders out there offering 90% LTV and accepting builder gifted deposits????

Highly unlikely unless you do one of these firstbuy scams.

Can't the developer just drop the price 5% instead or is he just back to the land registry fraud game.
