Walshy I used to interview staff using competency based criteria. Basically, take the key skills for the job and think of an example when you demonstrated each one (or a few fit all scenarios
). It's very much based on what you can demonstrate you can do / have done rather than fluffy 'what would you do' stuff - although sure you know all this already
. We always had a 'tell me about a time when a colleague wasn't pulling their weight' - I used to turn that to 'tell me about a time when a boss wasn't pulling their weight' And while we were covering our backs, going through questions and making sure we'd asked all questions, I would say 'while I check we've covered everything have a think about a strength you have which we have not explored during this interview - that was always popular with interviewees
Good luck for Friday.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Well, Hypno, about your feet - pity you weren't born a hobbit, their feet have tough leathery soles and hairy uppers. Save a fortune on trainers.... other than that I believe bathing them in surgical spirit is supposed to help? One life - your life - live it!0

Hi NB - yes, I am very used to putting surgical spirits on my feet now - a bottle is never far away!
50p and 10p for me today on the scratchcards........and I must do a dooyoo review again this evening.
Our car needs to have work done on the brakes today - it is one of those things that doesn't ever sound cheap, so I hope the bill is not too huge. Thank goodness that my pension money clears today.....at least I can make the car safe!

Bet Walshy is glad you are not doing the interviews. That sounds really tough.

Good news time - I have paid off my little Barclayloan in full (19.9% APR no more!!!) so that is gone :T
That brings me down to sub £35k.......and about time too  :j
I can also colour in several squares later on :j
Finally, quidco have received £160 which I should get at the beginning of next month - that's my holiday food bill taken care of nicely :T :T :T
All is well in hypnoland........tomorrow we collect the children's grants which means I can finally buy DD her boots that she needs. While I am there (but not with the grant money) I will be buying myself a ski-helmet after the awful news about Natasha Richardson today. My children wear them as a matter of course, but I only wore mine when racing, and don't even know where it is now......so I will be getting one at the weekend, and leading by example.
The car is in, so I am just waiting for that phone call.........Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
God yes, horrible news about Natasha Richardson. To think that she was up and about after the accident - just shows how sensitive our brains are, and how unexpected some turns of event can be...2023: the year I get to buy a car0
