Can you offer to pay anything at all?

I would suggest you make some payment this month, even if its not the full amount. A missed payment is likely to do more damage to your credit rating than an underpayment.
I don't need to know why you can't make a mortgage payment, but we all have the occassional crisis.

Most important thing to do is communicate with them - a pre advised one off crisis where you have paid as much as you can, is a lot less worrying to a lender than a sudden unexplained totally missing payment. Lenders aren't daft, they know people are getting laid off, hours cut etc but you really must keep them informed.Adventure before Dementia!0

Given that you are clearly in difficult financial straits it might be wise to post over on the DFW board. Post your SOA and people over there will help you cut back on numerous bills etc.
Whatever you do, make sure you do not ignore the problem, and maintain regular communication with your lender. In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0 -
