No one is going to shout at you.

why are you paying for your bf/s mobile.

    Learn to roll your own

    £80 shopping for two:eek:

Your post would be easer to sort out if everything was what you paid per month

your road tax says £60 i imagine this is per year.
your shopping says £80 then you say £40 per week so that would be £160 per month which isnt too bad
I was being serious about rolling your own cigarettes, takes a while to get used to it but you do eventually. Buy some ordinaary cigarettes for going out or in public, but you would be surprised at the amount of people (women and men)
smoke rollies. I am a smoker and i dont want to stop at the moment so its rollies for me. My husband and i go over to Amsterdam twice a year to stock up for the next 6months, half the price of the UK. Yes, we have to get there
If we time it right it costs us £35 each on the Hull Ferry, March & September
£100 loan for helping moving, is that per month or just a one off payment

If you try to think its just to wipe your bum and flush away rather than having a luxury sheet, get 12 rolls for £1.20-ish from Asda or Tesco, we use them and they aren't bad at all. £40 a week for 2 of you who both work is a lot, we spend no more than £30 a week for 2 adults, a child and animals, we do eat really healthily though because it works out cheaper. There are some fantastic cheap recipes on here, try to do a meal plan for a week/2 weeks, stuck to the list and you should be able to reduce the £40 quite a lot. Roll ups are a lot cheaper if you can't give up smoking, you could always buy cigarettes for when out (convenience) and then roll ups at home.
  • I agree with SweetPea. I think with regards to food, I reckon you should be able to halve that if you plan your means properly. I am starting to do that and make my lunch. Which all again take alot of planning. I still snack and things like that but its still alot less than what I used to spend. I think maybe talk to your bf about paying for his own fone... good luck with it all. I joined a couple weeks ago and I've found this a very helpful non-judgemental place with fab people. Just gotta keep communicating.
  • i mite actually try and use rollies!! would love to stop but until then i could smoke rollies...

toilet rolls- i tried the asda ones and i know because of the purpose of them it shouldnt matter but it felt like i was using more plus the rolls are smaller?

i know the shopping could be lower but i'm such a fussy eater (although my weight says otherwise) i hate fruit and veg - cue shock**

but road tax is 120 over the year but i only paid it in oct for 6mths case i couldnt afford it!!

i'll defo try the rollies and the loo roll but with regards my debt (its 100 a mth for 2 years-needed it for deposit and 1mths rent) and my car is 125 from my loan with halifax- can i pay this off on a cc and pay it quicker!!! hate loans!!!!

  • If you fill in the SOA calculator on the sticky at the top of the forum your ingoings /outgoings will be much easier to work with. I reckon you would end up with a surplus which would mean that money is being 'lost' Might be worth doing a spending diary for a week or two to see where that money is going.
