If your problem is that you see your balance and think the money's there for you to spend, forgetting that there are more direct debits coming out later in the month I think that the two accounts idea's a great one. You could also try having a big piece of paper stuck up somewhere in your house with all the dates and payments on, maybe if there are ones you need to pay that aren't on dd you can do them in red to remind you?
