Question re WH Smith vouchers

I have seen the WH Smith vouchers which can give you £5 off a £10 spend on books. The small print says that the £10 spend "applies to the transactional value after all discounts have been applied."
Could someone clarify what this means exactly, does this mean that if I find a book that is discounted to £10 I can still get a further £5 off and pay only £5 cash or does it mean that I have to spend at least £10 after the £5 off is applied (i.e.book has to cost at least £15)?

I must admit this one had me wondering, but I used them the other week - 1 spend came to over £10 after using the voucher, I also managed to use one of the other £5 off vouchers in the same transaction without a problem. (Used a £5 off kids books and £5 off a £10 book). At the same time I sent my eldest son to another till with some other books with another voucher and after the voucher was applied the total only came to about £6.

So I guess that the wording must mean that once all instore discounts have been applied.

If the book was reduced down but is still above £10 you can use it. (Adult)

If it is the kids book voucher - that states books in the plural so you can by a few books that come in total to over £10 when any other deal has been taken into account.

As an example kids annuals were on BOGOF, say they were £6 each, you needed to buy 4 so the total was £12 to use the £5 kid voucher.

I bought my husband a book last week, and it was reduced from £25 to £10. I presented my voucher, crossed my fingers behind my back, and it was deducted!

Very pleased to save 80%!!

If it still £10 in store - yes - I got it for £5
Its classed as an adult book and your book needs to be £10 or more to use the voucher. Be carefull though as a lot of books instore are £9.99 so you cant use it.

The voucher for childrens books is in the plural so you can get a few cheaper books to make the £10 total needed.

I have even used the £5 off voucher when buying 2 books from the buy one get one half price range, were each book has originally been £7.99 - Adult range

i did that the other day with dr who books at 6.99 so was well happy
