To shop now or after Christmas - that is the question!

Hi,

Hope this is the right section to post.

I intend to do up my house soon and buy some new stuff (TV, fridge, furniture, flooring etc). There seem to be some good deals at the moment, but do you think they will be even better after Christmas? Obviously I want my money to stretch as far as possible.

I've heard retailers are desperately trying to shift old stock before Christmas and prices on new stuff may well go up in the new year. Anyone have any definitive info?

I am also looking to buy similar items (electrical, furniture) and am going to wait until after Christmas. Yes there are good deals about at the moment but I am quite sure there will be better ones around after Xmas.

The reason I think this is that everyone seems to be going retail crazy right now and a lot of people are going to wipe themselves out before xmas, meaning they will not have much to spend after xmas, so retailers are going to have to come up with some good deals to get people to buy.

However this is just my opinion and not a definitive answer!

Actually now is the time for shopping as you get better deals. I certainly agree that people are just on a buying spree and will not have much left after Xmas. But the joy of shopping now is more than the money you spend on shopping ...So Shop now.

ive bought a house and need to furnish from top to bottom. im on the lookout and if i see anything i like, i will buy it bt not much as caught my eye (that i can afford). hopefully with catalogues ending at end of year, might see some better bargains
