Gift receipts

If you buy someone a pressie and give them a gift receipt with it, does it mean they can return the item and get a refund if they don`t like it or it doesn`t fit? I`m meaning Debenhams or M & S. Many thanks, as I`m not really sure how they work.

Yes they can return for refund or exchange, on the gift receipt it doesn't show the price. HTH

Thanks, how will the shop know the price you paid especially if its been reduced?

The till will give them the right price, probably using a code or barcode on the receipt. Sometimes gift receipts are an excuse to only give an exchange rather than a refund.

Hi, if you return an item with a gift receipt to M&S, you can either exchange it for an item of your choice or you will receive a credit voucher to the value of the goods which is valid for a year. All receipts are valid for 90 days from day of purchase.
If you return an item without a receipt, you will only receive a credit voucher for the last known selling price, so if it has gone down in the sale since it was purchased you may only get a fraction of what was actually paid for it!
