A budget is definately the way to go. I am definately a spender and always have been, I have recently reached thr grand old age of 40 without a penny in savings to my name.
A few months ago I joined this site and did a proper budget. Now I have savings in a 'pot' for things like clothes, car expenses etc and also have been saving £25 per week from my part-time job. I have a paper bill that I need to pay and also it would help to reduce my debts more but I just can't bring myself to touch my little pot of money!!
That is so unlike me, usually if I had a spare tenner I would be thinking of things I could spend it on
I was so like this as well, everytime I had a spare bit of money I'd be thinking how could I spend it. Now I'm challenging myself to only have £10 for the whole week, I manage this week with £7, with any spare being saved. I've also managed to spend a quarter of what I've been spending on food shopping as well.
I also think I love the challenge aspect of it was well, as I am a competive person & want to do better than I did before.Total debt £13318  paid £5660 Left to pay £7658 57%
10K in 2010 challenge 6806/10,000 68%
Clothes challenge 12/100 10%0
