How about making a jar of facts about golf/ tips to improve your golf/ golf jokes... there must be loads of info on the web, could print them out, cut and fold up and pop into a jar with a nice label. I've done 365 fact jars for the OH and my dad so this is where the idea comes from.

I think I've seen golf ball chocolates somewhere - maybe by Lindt?

Do you have any photos of him playing golf - maybe a photo mug with a witty caption?

My girls are doing a golf basket for their dad next year (yes I'm that organised, car wash kit this year) and are going to included a golf themed mug (£2 from Woolworths - probably £1 by now) and fill it with golf tees - making it a mug of tea

My hubby can never seem to get enough long golf tees. How about golf mitts and the small handwarmer pouches that you boil in water to recharge? Thermal undies?

Not sure how old your son is etc....I ordered a golf mag via Tesco clubcard deals for a yrs subscription - although I am afraid to say the last posting maybe missed but would do for a "late" new year present!
