Loyds TSB Scotland? (Sunday Times)

Not Tied Down
THE ANDERSON brothers, Barry, 27, and Adrian, 29, own a two-bedroom house in Redhill, Surrey, which they are in the process of remortgaging. They have opted for a penalty-free tracker from Lloyds TSB Scotland, which is 0.14 points above base rate for two years, giving a current rate of 4.64%.

Barry, an accountant, said: "We needed to remortgage by the end of January and felt that fixed-rate deals looked too expensive, as we think interest rates will come down this year. Also, Lloyds was offering a free valuation and free legal work on remortgages which helped to bring down the costs. There are also no repayment charges on this deal.

"This was a big factor for us because we may sell in the next couple of years and the problem with fixed rates is that most tie you in during the fixed term."

Is Lloyds TSB Scotland different from Lloyds TSB England? I cannot seem to find this deal listed on http://www.lloydstsb.com ?

I believe Lloyds TSB Scotland is a separate legal entity, their website is here. Looks as if the trackers aren't available online, you need to go into a branch or call 0800 056 0156.
  • * the number on the Loyds TSB Scoltland web site is incorrect, correct number is: 01724 283000 - The Scunthorpe Mortgage Unit!
  • No wrong again, another 3 people and I have the correct number! 0845 602 2829
  • ...and they will not deal with customers directly, I have to go thorugh a broker. Oh and they dont deal with properties 'South of the Border' so how this article is factually correct is a mystery

Why not write to the Sunday Times and ask them how you can get a deal like this south of the border?
