  • I'm going to get my parents to open an account and I'll put money in there for savings until I can open my own account....just an idea.

I got one at Chelsea building society.. went in and they were very friendly and opened it straight away and gave me my book.

Have a huge £50 savings in there at the moment :D

everywhere else I tried said yes but when they tried their system said no!

I really do not understand the coop, I bank with them and am not asking for any credit facilities. Very strange!!!!

It's not just them .. most places credit check for a savings account .. I know it's strange but I guess they don't like to see bankrupts with savings

A lot of the expenses allowed on an SoA are yearly expenses so really does make sense to save (and earn interest) for when they are due.

Do things change when you are discharged? There must be some sort of "human rights" issue here. Surely we are allowed to rebuild our lives and save for the future. Or am I wrong?
