Debt History - Help!

Hi
Its a little late but I have resolved to sort my debt problems out this year. I have recently applied to Experian for my credit history as I don't know exactly how much I owe on some debts and who at present owns the debt. Does anyone have any advice or good tips on where I can get all this info? Will the info from Experian be enough and will it give me a full breakdown of what I owe and to whom? I am ashamed to admit that I don't know exactly who I owe money to as accounts have been shifted from one debt agency to another - all help greatly appreciated!
Thanks

    Bump!

I'm afraid I don't have much experience of what you're asking but hopefully someone will be along to answer you very soon!

I hope you manage to get started on sorting out your debts, you're always welcome to post on here for advice and support. If you'd like some of us to take a look at your incomings and outgoings feel free to post them. We might spot something you've missed and find you some more money to help reduce the debt quicker.

    Best of luck x

  • Hi Brian,

In order to get a true picture of what is registered against you then you are best to get your credit reports from all three agency’s

    http://www.experian.co.uk/consumer/index.html?order

    https://www.econsumer.equifax.co.uk/consumer/uk/gb_consumerletter.ehtml

    http://www.callcredit.co.uk/corporate_scripts/consumer_creditreport.asp

The information held will vary amongst all three as different lenders / debt collectors use different agency’s.

This will of course only show what is currently registered against you, it may be the case that there are other accounts which are not currently registered with the CRA’s
 It’s hard enough remembering my opinions - without remembering my reasons for them
