M & S food on Xmas Eve

Hi all and Christmas greetings

I have always ordered my Christmas food from M&S as my firm use to hand out vouchers as a Christmas bonus! However, that has stopped this year but a friend has told me that if I was to go in to M & S after noon on Christmas Eve I would get the turkey et al for 50% of the cost, as they discount all items that haven't been collected.
Now I am wondering do I run the risk. Does anyone know if my friend is correct? Hope someone can offer some advice or experience.
p.s. She also said that they buy their tree from Homebase on Xmas Eve for 1p !!!!!!

Up until this year as far as I'm aware Marks have never reduced their food on xmas ever or any other day. This changed in our store earlier this year. I f i was going to guess i'd say they will reduce anything left after a certain time (I'd have thought 2 or 3 hrs earlier than closing. I wouldn't like to base my xmas dinner on what was left though. BTW I've always found the queues less on the normal till and the pre ordered till huge!Look after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves0
