A resource/website listing Mortgage lenders current SVR's?

Options
Hi,

Does anyone know if there is a resource or website that allows you to find out what your mortgage lender is charging as their Standard Variable Rate (SVR)?

I am interested as I am unsure what my fixed deal will change to when it expires soon, also it would be good to see their competitors side by side.

I am looking on the Alliance and Leicster website and cannot find this anywhere!

It suprises me it so hard to find this rate, as surely thousands of people are coming off their fixed term deals with A&L and dont know what rate they will be going on to?

Thanks for any help you can give in advance!

(p.s. -- a good website for quickly checking how your payments would change based on any new rates is here: http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/interest-rate-rise-calculator

  • You could consult an Independnet Financial Adviser - they would generally have access to the SVRs of the lenders, althoug I agree it is difficult to find out the SVRs.

Having said that, only the Alliance & Leicester SVR is available to you anyway as new borrowers are prevented from going on the SVrs with lenders now.

Incidentally as at 22/01.09 the SVR for A&L is 5.34%.
I am an IFA so have access to this type of info.
    hope that helps.

This is more up to date than the other link as it has the January cuts too. Alliance&Leicester SVR is still 'under review' so haven't acted on the Jan cut as yet.

LeeTomkins, I'm sure someone mentioned a couple of lenders who did allow people to go onto their SVR.
