working abroad and tax

confusing question!! lol

My hubby works for an international company and works all over the world. whereever he works he normally gets paid in english money and taxed in the normal way.

This time he is going to work in America for 3 months but will get paid in dollars how will this work with the tax man? Will he take his cut before it gets changed to pounds or after?

If your husband is not a US citizen or green card holder and is domestically resident in the United Kingdom then during a 3 month business trip to the US he will remain treaty resident in the UK and so liable only to UK tax.

He will also be exempt from paying US social security.

The payroll in the US should deduct tax and NI at UK rates and NOT US tax and social security. If they get this wrong he should speak with his employers.
