a little help please

I did a cca letter to a company and they have said that they have requested the aggreement from the company concerned, However I have had a letter from them today stating if they cant produce the said agreement within 40 days the account will be closed

They don't have 40 days do they????

    if they do not produce it in 12+2 days, they are in default and legally would have to go to court to get permission to pursue the debt. it used to be 12+2+30 days before they had to stop chasing youin any way, but the rules changed recently.

    So you can stop paying them after 12 working days plus 2 if you have a default already.
