a little help please

I did a cca letter to a company and they have said that they have requested the aggreement from the company concerned, However I have had a letter from them today stating if they cant produce the said agreement within 40 days the account will be closed

if they do not produce it in 12+2 days, they are in default and legally would have to go to court to get permission to pursue the debt. it used to be 12+2+30 days before they had to stop chasing youin any way, but the rules changed recently.
So you can stop paying them after 12 working days plus 2 if you have a default already.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
