Well - I was offered a balance transfer from egg @ 3.9% - thanks to this site :money: I remembered that egg will allow an SBT. I had £1k built up in the bills account ready for clearing another finance agreement so I've taken egg up on their offer, SBT'd £1.8K into the bills account and HAVE CLEARED MY LOAN!! (was 14.9% too - took that out before I found MSE)
So - my outstanding debt has been reduced substantially, I'm saving a fortune on interest. I also found out that due to a takeover at work, some share options I had are maturing so this is bringing the DFD even closer.
My debts now stand at:
My credit card (0%) - £1400
Car loan - £214.56 - just 2 payments to go
Egg card (was 3k loan) - £1836
+ the mortgage
What I'm getting in share profits next month will clear the egg card so I'll pay about £8 in interest.
So close now - I can almost taste it.
