VAT refund question

I ordered a laptop before the VAT change, and i expect it to be delivered next week, should the company refund me the VAT difference?
When i bought the laptop, it lists the price of the item, and then below it states plus, then the VAT amount.

imo i know i'll sound unfair, but logically, if you placed the order (and paid for it) before the change was announced then i don't think you will be eligible for the refund of difference. (sorry)

If you have paid for a waranty, you are entitled for the VAT difference back for the period of the warranty after 1st of December. So say for instance if you had a 2 year waranty Starting in December 07, you can ask the company you bought it from to refund you the difference back for VAT for December 08 till the end of your waranty. This applies to all service, mantainence and warranty contracts paid for before 1st December 08 that covers a period after 1st December 08.

With regard to your laptop, you could just phone them up and request that they give you the VAT difference back as a good will gesture or you will have no choice but to cancel your order and re order with them or elsewhere (you are well within your rights to cancel before being shipped).
if i had known then what i know now
