Hi all
DD is having a CHristmas party and there are 9 coming, just wondered what you think would be a reasonable amount to spend per bag.
I went to town and rightly or wrongly I didn't want to be fussed buying lots of bits and bobs and putting them in bags with loads of bits left over to thow away .So I went in to the poundshop and bought 8 bags with hair accessories in ( for the 8 girls) and 1 cars stationery set ( for the 1 boy) and I have put 2 choc bars and 1 lolly with them, ( spending £11:eek: )
I'd be interested to know your thoughts, what have you spent on party bags whether it would be for CHristmas / halloween / Easter / birthdays, whatever.
Cheers, Mr and mrs t

This year I spent about £1.50 a head I think (and I was trying to be frugal too) so your £1.00 a head isn't bad.MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0

geeze when i was younger it was a glorified 20p mix in party bag with a kitchen roll wrapped cake n maybe one of them toys u buy in a big bag from asda like bubbles or jumping frogs kinda like the xmas cracker toysLove is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,
Like why are we here? And where do we go?And how come it's so hard?

I dont think that £1 is too much to pay for 9 people party bags, its when you have 30 kids to buy party bags for that it becomes a lot  . I remember buying things for weeks before the party to spread the cost out. My sil bought selection boxes as party bags for her sons birthday last week they were £2.50 bogof at sainsburys, and they went down really well.0

I was soooooooo tempted with the selection boxes, however didn't want to spend that much, your sil got a bargain! They were doing 2 for £4 at woolies!
I had thought of tubs of bubbles and all that, but then thought 'bout cost of item and cost of bag all in all + decided against it. You always get left overs that hang around.
keep the ideas coming, cheers, mr and mrs t0 -

I spent about £1 per head for my son's 2nd birthday - that included a mini book, bubbles, mini rubber duck, toy car, crayons, a balloon and the bag. I bought multipacks of toys from Home Bargains and Poundstretcher and it worked out so cheap.0

Why not buy the small selection boxes? there about 75p-£1 in price in different places. I got 4 for £3 in poundland a few weeks agoLove is the answer. At least for most of the questions in my heart,

Wooden 36 piece Jigsaws were £1 each in my local Poundland, suitable for both boys and girls. My DIL put a slice of birthday cake, a balloon and a jigsaw in the children's party bags. Who started the party bag nonsense? When I was little (long ago and far away) you got a slice of cake to take home, if you were lucky!" The greatest wealth is to live content with little."
