Rebates

Im a a real novice when it comes to all this, but I hear alot of my friends (after about a years or so's work) saying they have been given a tax rebate.
Ive been working for nearly 4 years now and was wondering how these rebates work? do I have to apply? or can I check if Im legible for one.

Thankyou in advance.

You only get a tax refund if you have overpaid tax! Its not a good place to be in, but you can always write and ask your tax office to check your liability for the past 4 yrs.
