Can anyone help me as to what i'm looking for i was one around 37 inches. But after that i'm lost.
Is a Lcd better than a plasma or what please could anyone give me any ideas and point me in the direction of a good shop that i can go to.
As i know absoutly nothing about these new tellys only that i want one.

You would be very lucky to get a good 37" lcd for £1000, best bet is to got to Comet or one of the other big stores GH Lee, and see what you like. Take a dvd and ask them to play it for you, and don't forget they will try to sell you what they will make the most on. Have a look at DLP Tvs, Plasmas and the LCD's. Dlp works like the old rear pojection tvs, but they only have 1 bulb in them were as the old rear pro has 3 bulbs. Plasma, once they go they are no good, so it depends on how much you watch tv, they all last some many hours, say 60,000. You might think thats alot, but if you watch alot of tv, its not. Have a look at https://www.avforums.com and leave a post on there and you will get some good idea's. Going for a curry now, see yeh

If you go on the forum site above you will get loads of info, then after you have seen what you want i.e comet etc, just search for the model No on the net. You should find it alot cheaper than the high street, if you do go for a lcd, plasma or dlp at £1000 you will be at the lower end of the market, or go for a 2005 model to get it a bit cheaper. Everyone will tell you what they think is the best, but only you will know what you will put up with. If you want to hang it on the wall will dlp is no good as its not as thin as lcd or plasma. But if you intend to keep the Tv a long time well I would go for dpl. Have you thought of just getting a normal 36"crt Tv? picture quality will be alot better and you would get the dogs bol :silenced: ks for £1000.0

Try instore at Comet....my local store have a 32" Widescreen LCD (HDTV) Sagem Axium HD - L32T for £999....beautiful looking set and picture quality etc seems fantastic.......only drawback is that you need to fork our over a hundred quid for a half decent stand.
