Any curtain superstores in Inverness?

Options
Hi

As i'll be moving to Inverness soon, I want to know if any curtain superstores exist there similar to Paul Simon which you can find in Southern England. I'm sure there will some small shops but i really want a big range of curtains/poles to choose from (i'm very picky!) and at a reasonable price of course. So far Google has given me Curtains Direct (44 Seafield Road) and Montegomery Curtains Direct (in Eastgate Debenhams) but i'm not sure if they have a big range or not.

Thanks :)

  • Hi, as far as i know we do not have any big shops for you to go to, your best bet is the shops you mentioned, they are not huge, i don't think the shops in the centre have much, sorry maybe some one else can help
  • have you got a dunelm near you? i have reccommended it to many people and i got my curtains on sale from there for a tenner!

Unless its closed down there used to be a large remnant kings in inverness - they do some ready made but also a big fabric selection which you can then get custom made.

They were still at 33 Harbour Road when I drove past last week... Mind you, might've shut down by now in the current climate ;)

Only info I could find on them:

If you can smile when things go wrong, you have someone in mind to blame. :D
  • I think Inverness is poor for curtains, I get mine when I'm at my mums in the Central Belt.
We have a Roseby's & Textyle World and there is the section in Debenhams you already mentioned (for ready made & made-to-measure).

    Hi,

You could try Ponden Mill down at Holm Mills

    Holm Mills Shopping Village
    Holm Woollen Mill
    Dores Road
    INVERNESS
    IV2 4RB
    Tel: 01463 223311
  • Thanks for all the suggestions, i will let you know how i get on after i move in next Fri :)
  • I think that the nearest Dunelm is in Perth, there's not one in Inverness. It's worth making the trip down the A9 though :)

Hope that your move North goes well!
  • Thanks for that Nessie. Assuming i don't find a place in Inverness which has a big range of ready-made curtains, is Dunelm Mill in Perth my best bet? I was thinking of Glasgow but obviously want to avoid it if i can. Do you think i can buy 11 pairs of ready-made curtains + poles +2 blinds all in one go from Dunelm Perth? I guess made to measure curtains would cost me considerbaly more so would prefer ready made.
    Thanks folks :)

Dunelm also have a pretty good website and according to it, you've got the choice of over 175 designs to choose from. I got some of my curtains there last year and I've been pleased with them. They also have a made to order service.
