Hi there, I hope you can help. Back at the beginning if the year, I got myself into a bit of trouble. I fell drastically behind on council tax payments as I was struggling to make ends meet whilst trying to pay other debts. I also them became ill and had 3 months off work in hospital. During this time, my parents agreed to a walk in with the Baliff. They then paid a large sum for me and I sent a load of cheques through to the Baliffs to cover the rest. I assumed this was enough to cover it all as that is what I had worked out with the info I had. They haven't responded to me requests for statements. However, apparently what I though was done apparently isn't and they recently got in touch with my parents to state that I hadn't made the payments and they wanted to sieze my goods. I straight away got in contact with them and explained what had happened and they were no help at all. They want more money than I have and unfortunately the goods they mentioned on the walk in - which wasn't very much anyway - no longer exisit as most of it was furniture from my old flat which were destroyed accidentally when I was moved. My friends had to move me as I was unwell and a lot of the stuff didn't live through it. The only other items on it, my TV (whivh blew up -it was ancient) and ,y hi-fi which I still have. I want to pay this and get it sorted. Obviously the CCCS can't help with this and I don't know what to do? Any advice?
