IVA and bank accounts
I was running a reasonable sized company until 2001, when it collapsed, leaving me with a debt of£75 000. After a year of trying to resolve the problems, and losing my health, sanity and current account with cheque guarntee card i had to enter into an IVA.
I am 18 months into a 5 year IVA, and i have a debit card account with the same bank as to where my mortgage is held.
I occaisionally go overdrawn by maybe £5 to £10, but because these are unauthorised and beacasue i have no overdraft facility, i get hammered for £70 in bank chrges.
I have asked the bank to look at letting me have a cheque card and overdraft facility of £50, but no joy.
Unfortunately i have been blacklisted through no real fault of my own, (apart from financial ignorance of banks) and all i want is to have a very small overdraft facilty.
I cannot get credit from any other source, and i dont want any, i cannot remortgage because of my credit history, so how can i get out of this mess, seeing as i was only trying to build a business in the firt place for me and 7 employees.
Is it worth me going bankrupt???
I have been to the CAB and they just photocopied some info from a financial website, they were pretty much next to useless.
Now my account is frozen due to fraudelent transaction from PayPal, ( if anyone wants more info on this service, please email me) and i have had to put my wages into my wifes account. The bank say it could take 4 weeks to open a new debit account, so its time for change, if i can find someone who is reasnobale enough to listen to me.
Any help would be appreciated.
