A number of Honest problems

OK, I have got myself into 98,000 K worth of debt and it is weighing me down tremendously. I haven't paid my creditors for 2 years (they have just recently found me). Now is the time to deal with this. I have decided on bankruptcy. I already have a cashminder account with the Cooperative Bank and they have already said that they will keep the account open. I want to make a clean start. I am on 1600 take home a month and have barely any outgoings (although I need to learn how to budget! Desperately!) The problem is with my landlord, I love the house I am in and he is a great guy. I took the tenancy on, I am not on the electoral roll because he wanted to keep it as if he was still living here. The forms ask for my landlords name. If I state this, will he be looked in too? I would not want him to get into trouble, despite the fact that I am also involved in this somewhat. I have found a house and a landlord that I am very happy with and I think that can help me move forward with my life. I don't want to cause trouble for anyone. Please help! I have decided on my bankruptcy and I feel very guilty about my debt but at the end of the day, I need to move on.

The OR needs to know these details so he can contact your landlord to confirm you live there and the amount of rent you pay. If you have a tenancy agreement then if you give the OR that and ask him not to contact your landlord some won't. Also make sure there is not a bankruptcy clause in your agreement. The OR is not interested in getting your landlord in trouble.Namaste DeeDee x0

if you can wait till january the public notices in the paper end, so thats one less problem.
chances are your LL will never know anyway, and BR is personal, not settled on an address

Thanks for the quick reply!
The question is, that I pay council tax as part of my rent, the lanlord still "claims" he is living here for his own benefit. Do I say he is still living here? He is a good ladback guy and he knows I am looking after his house very well. I don't want to get him into trouble.0 -
I don't think you need to say anything but if asked its always wise to tell the truth. You rent a place from the landlord and you presumably pay the gas, elec and phone. Fill in your I&E and we will be in a better position to advise.
Do you have a tenancy agreement? I doubt any further investigation would be made. However you don't need to say that the LL wants it to look as if he still lives there - just say your council tax is included in the rent - which it is.

Your right there jakjo! That's why it took my over 8 months from realising I needed to go bankrupt to actually going bankrupt - so my husband wouldn't have to as well. You'll be fine. Tell the truth but on a need to know basis.
Richard_S has another saying like always tell the truth but don't always be telling the truth or something along those lines.

Thanks for the advice! I am not sure what I would have done without this site and Debtline! It isn't an easy thing to deal with but with all the support you can get. It does make it all the more easier to handle! Thanks guys!!!
I will post my SOA tonight Max.0
