BLuetooth and so I don;t really think there worth £24.99 (which is the price they are up in my local Staples, if they were Bluetooth then I would have picked one up as you can add other devices. I would stay away unless you not fussed it NOT Bluetooth, although I would be.
Model No on them is P57570uk.
Oh but yes they are Bluetooth, you are looking at the wrong ones. Bluetooth say bluetooth wireless desktop one it, the wireless one says just wireless desktop. They are £29.99 not £24.99.
As this has a Bluetooth adaptor you can pair your phone with it, i.e. load files inc ring tones to your phone. My phone can also be used as a remote for real player etc, the toggle moved the mouse pointer and does other things.
Someone mentioned a ext. USB hub for around £15, if you go to poundland they are £1 or on the net for a few quid.0 -

OK, done some digging around in various Staples shops, and found the follow:
There are actually 3 different type of BELKIN wireless keyboard/mouse in STAPLES stores, BUT only 1 of them is BLUETOOTH!!! I believe they all have the same barcode sticker as well, so can easily get confused. MAKE SURE YOU GET THE ONE THAT ACTUALLY SAYS BLUETOOTH IN WRITING. Its a thinner box, as pointed out in earlier post. I picked one up from the Basildon branch (if anyone is interested) and they had about 4 left, BUT loads of the other one, so BE CAREFULL when picking them as all 3 type are all near each other.
As pointed out earlier look for bar code thats actually printed on the box (not a sticker) for the following: 7 22868 49763 0

Thanks to Caverncity and everyone for their help. I got the last one in Staples in Sheffield town centre yesterday. This should work brilliantly for me as I've got my PC linked in to my LCD TV. I can plonk my !!!!!! on the sofa and browse MSE.com, change music and play games without having to get up. Cool!0

is it just me or is the mouse kind of lumpy to use. Move the mouse and initially it jumps (stays in the same place then jumps a few inches and works fine). Also just feels less precise that USB old one.
And when booting up and you get to the Windows password screen - seems to take 5 - 10 secinds to "wake up" so you can put your pw ?
How will this work if you have a power on / BIOS password? Will it work?0 -
doh, was just thinking of popping down to Staples in Sheffield to have a look for one! oh well, saved me the trouble and £29.99!0

I have a microsoft bluetooth besktop and it seems to have the same sort of symptoms - Ok once you get going, but sometimes a bit slow to start up!!
Don't know about the bios password, unless you have a particular reason for putting one on I wouldn't advise it. HTHBe an amateur! Professionals built the Titanic, amateurs built the Ark!!

Yes I did notice there was a second or two lag when moving the mouse. Also what I do now is when my PC is booting up I click the mouse once and press any key on the keyboard to wake it up so when all up and running your keyboard and mouse will be too.
The actual shape of the mouse takes some getting used to aswell.
Doesnt Currys, Dixons PCWorld do a price match plus 10%, see if they have any.0 -
I purchased one earlier from the Staples Corner branch in NW London, however there should be a couple left. I was told the Staples stock code was 379848 and when phoning up a branch they were able to trace by that number. Good Luck.0

To be honest, this is worth every penny of £29.99, dont hesitate getting it.
Yes it does take a couple of seconds if you have not used the Kb or mouse for a few mins, but then it works like a normal KB & mouse. The range is great and the sensativity of the mouse is better than USB.
You cant access your BIOS, so if you do need to head in there have a USB or PS/2 Keyboard in the cupboard, but most users don't need to go in the BIOS. However, if you are a laptop user you will need to enter your HDD lock password on your lappy KB then use the Bluetooth KB once windows has booted.
It's a great keyboard to use, the rotary volume and mute and hot keys are nice bonuses and the keyboard is well made and a nice feel soft but precise motion. The mouse feel is different to the normal 'flat' mice but is definately more ergonomic and comfortable to use and you won't want to go back to your old mouse once you have used it.
With heavy use the battery is quoted as good for 25 days or 100 days standby. I would suggest if you buy one of these your next investment should be in some 2600mh NiMH batteries and a charger, but this is the same with any wireless KB & mse.
One other note, if you have WinXp with SP2 then you will need to maually install the drivers, had to call the FREEPHONE tech support to get direction, then it works a dream.
Stock code on the till receipt: 0722868497630. Belkin model number for the kit is F8T042. Apart from the KB & mse you get a USb dongle which you could plug straight into a USB socket or use the nifty lead and mount that make the range better and has the appearance of an ariel.
We bough this to go with the 19" Samsung LCD TV. The idea being when not being used for PC work, the KB & mse can go in a drawer under the desk, leaving much more work space. It's a great piece of kit, a fraction of the price of equivilent kit, and right now at Staples / Office World is the same price as the technology it is superceeding.
Grabbit while you can!0 -
There was a stock of 2 or 3 of these in the Blackpool store yesterday0
