Hi there

I have just been on to my local office, and they have requested that i send them a letter expaining why i think that i am in the wrong band....

1 Neighbour is Band D
Me and another is Band C
and 2 others is Band B

I have to write to them asking them to look at the banding for my street, and because the 2 that are in band B have contested the had their band moved from C to B, i have a good change they will also put me in Band b

any help would be most great ful

Providing that the 2 Band Cs and 2 Band Bs are identical, i.e. same size and type, are all semis or all detached or all inner terrrace, and the 2 Band B houses were not reduced because of a disability which does not affect your house, the following is short but to the point.


Dear Sir/Madam

COUNCIL TAX BAND : YOUR ADDRESS

I live at the above address and my band is Band C as is No. X. However Nos Y and Z, which are identical houses were reduced from Band C to Band B. I therefore request that the band of my house also be reduced to Band B, backdated to 1 April 1993
