Moans about Disneystore!!

I'm a little bit peeved with the Disney Store!!

A couple of weeks ago I purchased a lightning McQueen Robe for my friends little boy....expensive enough as it is at £20. Got that in a size 3-4. Got a Bob the Builder one from Mothercare in size 2-3, and that was bigger than the one in Disneystore.....

If I had had the money I would have ordered the bigger one online in the first place, but the delivery charge is a whopping £4.95...no ta.....bigger one not in my local store though.....so go with the smaller as theoretically it should be the right size.

Since I got the one from Mothercare (a week ago) I've emialed and called Disneystore, and finally spoke to a nice girl today called Lynsey...thanks for you help...I had her ringing around all the stores I might go close to in the near future, thinking I could take a de-tour, but no luck. So now I have had to PAY for it to be transferred from one store to another, and that costs £5.90!!

Mothcare ordered the item and delivered it for free, and it was a lot cheaper too!!

I like moaning, and I think it's a moan-worthy cause.

  • Now actually I am thinking.....and if someone could help me here that would be great. If the item arrives in store, and they ring me and I say I no longer want it, then they can't charge me the £5.90 as they only have a phone number for me...

So surely they would then be able to sell it to someone else, but wouldn't be able to charge the someone else the £5.90? So could I not go in and grumble, and be really cheeky and ask if that's possible in my situation??? I wonder if it might work? Surely they can't really get away with that. I think most stores do it for free or certainly a lot less than £5.90!! That is a hefty hefty charge!!

You could try being devious and do that, but more likely than not they will just say that they do not have the right one in and send the ordered one back, they are trained to spot people trying to avoid transfer fees in that way.

Why did you happily agree to the £5.90 transfer fee, whilst refusing to pay the £4.95 delivery fee by shopping online?

  • Because I didn't get it when it was available online. I thought I'd just get it in store. They didn't have the bigger one then, so I got the smaller one (because their size goes 3-4 and then 5-6).

I thought it was a little on the small size when I got it, but seeing as the 2-3 is bigger I'd rather go with the next size up and him to grow into it....... thought I'd exchange it at another store, but nowhere near me has it in stock in the bigger size so in the end I had no choice.

I'm going to try to be devious anyway....might wait until it's busy and kick up a fuss about it!! Surely it wouldn't be economical to send it back up to Newcastle from Leicester?! They'd loose even more money doing that...I just think they've got a right cheek!!
