Is this a possibility? Stupidly my wife & I signed up to 18 month contracts approx 5 months ago, we really shouldnt have done and the extra £80-£100 would come in handy.
What are the chances of the providers allowing us to cancel? O2 & Orange.
Thanks.

not much chance at all. you could try lowering your price plans and see if that helps, otherwise if you want out the contract you will have to pay.Debt free 3 years early :j

Agree they may reduce the tariff but I doubt they will cancel without you having to pay.0

If you do that they will charge you anyway0

O2 will allow you to reduce you tarrif by one level per month which will help but i think the general rule is getting out of phone contracts is nigh on impossibleThose who risk nothing, Do nothing, achieve nothing, become nothingMFW #63 £0/£5000

You are probably not going to be able to do much until 12 of the 18 months is up. Then you maybe able to get a better deal. But there is no harm in ringing them now and asking if it can be reduced.0

If you have problems with your nextwork - like you get failed text messages or network busy etc when you try to make a call, if you keep a record of say 10 of these times then call them, they have reports showing them all when errors happen too so they can check, they are breaking their terms and conditions by this, because they promise to provide adequet service at all times of the contract.
They will usually cancel the contract if you kick up enough fuss because technically they have broken the terms of the contract.
BUT that was like 3 years ago, they may have changed the T&Cs to get round it!
You can lower your tarriff - although some charge you after the first step down. How much is the phone worth and how much is the contract if you bought it out? Perhaps sell the phone and use that money to pay off the contract?BCT:[strike]£16,500 [/strike] £0 HFC CURRYS: [strike]£520[/strike] £0 HFC PC WORLD: [strike]£800[/strike] £0 ARGOS CARD: [strike]£795[/strike] £0 ADDITIONS DIRECT: [strike]£625[/strike] £0 NATIONWIDE CC: [strike]£1560[/strike] £0 VIRGIN CC: [strike]£1500[/strike] £0 :j0 -
I contacted Three about mine ages ago and getting no where with customer services based in India  I found the UK headoffice telephone number called them, they gave me an address to e-mail or write to, they then after I put it in writing halved the price for the rest of the term.
I cant think of one company that will end the contract unless your dead :rotfl:
Three UK number 0870 733 0295 or e-mail and they answer very quick

Give them a call - you have nothing to lose. What are you spenind on each one - can you say what the split is please. If you are spending say 30 on one try and get it down to 20 - research what the competition are offering and say x,y,z are doing this many minutes for 20 pounds what can you offer me. Do the same for the 50 pounds one (or whatever the split is).
They can only say no. If they do maybe write to them or phone again in a couple of months and see if things have changed.
