Opening new current a/c affect mortgage ?

Hi, I'm a newbie so excuse me if this has been asked before. We want to remortgage soon (under-performing endownment) but in meantime my wife (joint mortgage holder) wants to change to the new Alliance and Leicester current a/c, advertised here.
Might this opening of another current account adversely affect our chances of getting a remortgage, other things considered? The mortgage will come out of my current a/c (opened 17 years) and we will still keep her old current a/c live.
