Gaaaaah! First direct

I know this should probably be on the current accounts board... but it does relate to trying to be a DFW!

I check my account every day and at the moment, what with CHristmas credit crunches and all that, I'm doing a finely balanced juggling act between accounts. Last night I checked my account at 11.30pm and found it was slightly over the overdraft limit so I adjusted it so it was OK. i checked again this morning and between 11.32pm and midnight a bloody payment went out to my flexiloan putting me back over the overdraft limit! bear in mind this is all First Direct stuff. So I rang them this morning and it took a while but they've agreed not to charge me. When I pointed out it was pretty late for an automatic payment to be made she just gave me the 'it's a live system' spiel. Bah!

  • My loan payment always used to go out at random times during the night, as does my CC direct debit.... I have been od with them a couple of times, but paid the money in the nex day, as soon as I realised, and haven't been charged... only got charged once when it was 2 days before I realised I was od... usually they are pretty good
