Scared newbie!!!!

Hi everyone.....

I'm new here - have been lurking for a long time but had a lightbulb moment on Friday and am now here to try and sort myself out!

I'm 27, single (in the marital sense) owe almost 20k including student loans etc and, although I'm a property owner so have some security (whatever is left after the property crash that is!) , I want and need to clear the unsecure debts hanging over my head.

I've tried to update my signature to reflect what I owe, and have also started a blog at http://itstartedwithabill.blogspot.com/ to sort of explain things and keep my diary, as I get a bit lost trying to keep track on the forum! So if you get a chance to have a read and gee me up that would be fab! Although I will come back and do my SOA later today once I've done my sums. I'm a little scared!! :-S Although trying to remain entirely optimistic and positive that I can sort this out........... I must keep smiling!

See you all soon

  • Damn it. I actually attempted an overpayment on one of my loans last week (just £5 to see if it worked so I could do the make a payment-a-day challenge from now on as this is my highest interest debt) and the company in question took that to be my monthly payment, rejected my standard DD yesterday so my account is now - for the FIRT TIME EVER - shown as being in arrears!

Have phoned and gone a bit mental at them. They said they would rectify things so I'll watch it closely over the next day or two to ensure they do!

Blimey, I've got off to a great start haven't I?!!?

Hi happy and welcome to the forums, a place where at first you will feel like the only one in debt and then when reading and looking you will realise you are so not alone.

Get your soa up on here so everyone can see where you may be able to make some changes to help with those debts, Its great you have an online blog but if its on here then lots of different people can see it in black and white without having to change screens.

Good luck all will be fine x
