Put them next to a new one. You will see the difference straight away!

You just don't notice the difference as the change is gradual each time you wash.

Conditioner can affect the breathable/windproof membrane as well, if you've got one in your fleece.

Yes, point taken but most of our fleeces are just ordinary day wear (kids tops etc) so it doesn't really matter. I'm more careful with stuff that I'll actually be going up a mountain with ;)

I would imagine that most people are just washing everyday, casual fleeces rather than seb zero gear.
Just run, run and keep on running!

Ive just had to reread this thread twice because my first thaught was the fleece was some type of sheepskin rug or something and not your everyday jumper.I own lots of fleeces as they are cheap, comfy, easy to dry and last as long as i can fit into them.Ive never given them any special care for washing them, just bung them in the washer whichever wash im doing at the time,40 or 60 and they look good as new.

If your fleeces are for sports ,maybe pop into your nearest outdoor shops and they could advise you the best way to wash.
