Thank you for this thread. I was able to purchase direct from Amazon and the software directs it right into iTunes, which was my main concern. I really hope this cause Apple to respond with a similar price reduction and release of DRM.
Great savings, thank you.0 -
Take That is now £6.49, but I've just bought Rihanna for £3. Bargain. I've downloaded with no probs, and it went straight into my iTunes. Thanks to the OPLove MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0

Apple have provided DRM-free music where labels have given it to them. I suspect the remainder of the big four are deliberately witholding it from them - it's long been speculated that they don't like iTunes' level of control in the digital music 'relationship'. They're probably charging iTunes more wholesale than Amazon too.splinter-ghost wrote: »Thank you for this thread. It seems no coincidence that Amazon, 7digital, Play and HMV now have all the big four on board while iTunes are left behind. Hopefully that's more than enough to start something of a price war when the labels see how effective the £3 album promotion is though. Good times to be a music customer, I hope.
DRM restricts what you can do with the music you buy. It stops it working on lots of devices and prevents you, for example, burning more CDs or putting it on more computers than big companies decide you ought to. You have no rights to what you bought. So DRM-free is good.LISSILEIGH wrote: »sorry to sound sill but what does drm free mean?? also can i download things straight onto my ipod?
