Debt free wannabe

Hi,
I got recommended this site off someone, and I must say it hasn't half helped me. I thought I was alone but I'm not, keep thinking of ways to get out my rut, and nothing seems to work. I have debts of approximately 20k, through various reasons. But now I'm in a rut, finding myself 2 weeks before pay day and money still to come out, so having to borrow out of my loan to see me through till next pay day, putting my grocery shopping on my credit card, etc you've probably heard it before. I came on this site for the first time last week and I had never heard of IVA'S or debt management really until then. The biggest step to date I've done was ring pay plan, fantastic people, thought they would be off with me or very straight to the point, but they were very understanding, got a telephone interview with them on thurs, so hoping they can give me the best possible solution for my debt, I know I can't afford to go on like this. But I think everyone should feel really proud of themselves on this as its a marvellous website and the fact that you can discuss your situation with others, I mean they only people who know about my problem are my parents, I can't bring myself to tell anyone else.
So well done everyone

    Hi there Angel

Well done for making an appointment with Pay Plan - what a big step! What I wonder though is if in the meantime we could try and suggest ways to make cut backs? If you post a Statement of Affairs I have copied one as posted by Bermuda John (I hope that's the right name!) we can try and find some ways to save.

Post a SOA, hope this helps. Fill in the blanks and add any extra incomings or expenditure. Obviously change it to suit your needs!

    Here you go!

    Incomings

    Husbands salary £xxx
    My income £ xxxx
    Child benefit £xxx
    Tax credit £xx

    Total £xxxxx

    Expenditure

    Mortgage £xxx
    Water £ xx
    Council Tax £xx
    Gas £xx
    Electric £xx
    Home insurance £xx
    Telephoone £xx
    TV licence £xx
    Sky £xx
    Life Ins £xx
    Health ins £xx
    Petrol £60
    Tax, MOT etc £65
    Grocerys £xx
    Clothing £xx
    Dentistry £xx

    Total exp £xxxx

    Balances of debts:
    Overdraft £xxxxx
    Personal Loan £xxxxx

    Total: £xxxxx

Try and post the rates of interest, (this is very important!).

    Bye for now
