Hi,
I have taken the first step towards organising my debt by contacting companies that can help me. 2 of my creditors are happy with this and willing to work with me however I am having difficulty with the last one.
Basically I believe they are harassing me and their customer advisor was verging on the abusive in my previous conversation.
With the harassment they asked if I would be able to make a payment on Saturday 29th November over the counter at the bank. They are aware that any payment at the bank takes a minimum of 3 working days to clear and with this company the average appears to be 5. However between yesterday and today they have called me a grand total of 8 times asking for something which they know cannot happen due to the banks.
With the previous conversation with them last week I told them about my situation and who I was contacting for advice and I was told in strong language that they would not accept anything at all that it was their way or no way. They would not accept a lower monthly payment over the short term, demanded I paid the full debt over the phone and so on.
I guess what I'm asking is do I go to trading standards regarding the constant phonecalls or should I go down another route?
Thanks

Hi - there are definitely things you can do here:
1) make sure you are getting advice from a charity organisation - a comercial company will be likely to sell you something that makes them money even if it is not the most suitable. Also they may set up a payment plan but the money will be going to them rather than the creditors - hence why you should go with one of the recommended ones as stated by the OP.
2) Hopefully someone can find the link but there is a letter you can send requesting that a company communicates only in writing and that any further calls will be harrassment and you will be reporting them.
Best of Luck
