Lightbulb moment...

Eeek! I've finally had that light bulb moment (at long last) and want to get my finances in order. I'm not working and have 2 children (4 and 2). I also want to get savvy at saving money (changing accounts / gas / electric etc etc). Think there are big savings to be made.
I've got an o/d of £1600ish and and egg c/c sitting at £6000ish.
Will put together a complete list and post again and would welcome any advice on getting straight. I've been reading some of the advice given to others and know that the expertise is out there but please be gentle with me!
TIA and happy new year to all moneysaving experts.

Hi SAHM welcome to DFW where you are in good hands, the first step is the hardest, you have done that so well done. Take a look at the post by Martin and post your statement of affairs so we can help you to get rid of the debt.

Welcome Stayathomemum! I'm one of those too!
We're just finishing off clearing our debt, having learned a heck of a lot from the guys on here - post your SOA and you'll find out all kinds of useful things. Is your partner debt free or do you have more to clear? Do you combine your monies so you can get debt free? I have a work from home job I do around the kids so I'm not having to pay for childcare, and the extra pennies from that have been topping up our cc payments the last few months. Might you consider something like that to help you get clear?
Good luck, and welcome!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 002 :rotfl:0
