Jobseeker's Allowance (Contribution based) after vol redundancy

Hi

I am taking vol redundancy, seemed like a good idea when I agreed to take it over 6 months ago! Office relocating and travel/childcare make it not worth while.

Despite being off work when I had my children I have always worked.

My hubbie does work 35 hours a week, but would I be able to claim? I have worked part time for the last 3 years.

I finish on 31 Jan 2009

Thanks

It depends entirely on your Class 1 NI contributions. Your husbands income excludes you from getting anything with income based.

I was recently made redundant and my husband still works at the moment. I was able togetthe standard £60.50 per week cause husband on a good salary and we have savings over £16,000. I would phone when you finish and get the form completed, they will advise you over the phone what you will be entitled to and if you have paid enough NI contributions, arrange a appointment at the job centre to go through the form with you and discuss howyou are proceeding on getting another job.
