Mortgage code? House deeds?

Does anyone know if the Mortgage Code Compliance Board still exists and if so what their current web address is?

Can anyone tell me what my legal position is regarding mortgage company losing my house deeds?

    The Mortgage Code, which is no longer effective, came into effect for lenders on 1 July 1997 (first edition) and on 30 April 1998 for mortgage intermediaries (second edition). It remained in force until 31 October 2004, when the Financial Services Authority’s Mortgage Conduct of Business Sourcebook (MCOB) came into effect, and the Code was withdrawn.

    The FSA took over regulation from the MCCB on 31 October 2004
