got some whoopsie bargains last night at asda including a extra special spaghetti bolognese for 17p - woo hoo........anyways decided to add some mushrooms and half a tin of tomatoes to it and now im wondering, can i freeze the other half of the tin to use at a later date? or just tub it up and put it in the fridge, will it kep for a few days?. normally i would have thrown it ihe bin but im a reformed carachter these days thanks to OS MSE and anyways its those lovely Napolina tomatoes - shame to waste!
Also got 2pts milk for 21p (7 days until it expires
6 French Set Yogurts at 21p (had 1 today with HM fruit salad, tasty)
family size shepards pie for 36p (quartered it and froze it for my little un (5yrs), as she loves this served with some veggies of course)
and a pack of 5 white chocolate and bluberry cookies for 5p  . delish
sorry if this all seea buit trivial but trying to stick to a £50 per week shopping budget and reluctant to throw away what i can use again, just want to make sure i do it safely as like i said, its not just me eating the stuff but daughter too

I've never tried freezing tinned tomatoes myself but I don't see why you couldn't especially if you were going to use them as a base for a sauce, cottage pie etc.
Alternatively like you say, they will store in the fridge for a couple of days, though I would take them out of the tin and put them in a sealed container.
And you don't sound trivial at all, people throw away too much food and think of the money you're savingIf I have been of any assistance, or my information is useful, please press the "Thanks" button0 -
I've frozen them before both on their own and as part of a bolognaise sauce and they are fine. Always defrosted them before using though. Sure it'd be ok in the freezer for 3 months or more. Never last that long here though. lol

yup, they both freeze (3 months) or chill in the fridge (2 days) fine.
You can also cook them up in a bigger meal, save the extra portions in the fridge/freezer and you have yourself an instant home made microwave meal- just reheat till its cooked all the way though to stop yourself getting any sort of poisoning!0
