Help? Stresssseeeeed.

Hey people. About 3 months ago i lost my job and since then have not been able to find another one. I am in quite a bit of debt now. O2 want £370 for a contract deal i was disconnected from, and two other companies want money i owe for things bought on credit. I am also overdrawn £70. I have no idea what to do.. i've sold things but not making as much as i need by a long shot. I've tried everything but it seems so useless, i'm so stressed, i'm only 20 and never thought i'd find myself in such a situation this early in life. Any help please?

Have you spoken to any of the debt charities?
Are you claiming JSA, getting your rent paid etc?
If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing
  • Have you tried temping to bring in a bit extra? I did this between jobs.... though I live in Birmingham City Centre which might mean there were more jobs available......

I've spoken to some but they all just want me to agree small monthly payments with the companies, even this is impossible as i don't have a single penny to my name! I live with my mum.

You're going to have to try temping - if you're living with your mum then you're unlikely to be able to cut back. Unless your mum would be able to help out?

Are the debts still with the original companies or have they been passed to collectors?

You can claim Job Seekers Allowance. That's £45 (roughly) a week for 20 year olds. That will help you.

Can temp for up to 16 hours on this as well so long as you are still actively seeking full time work :)

Get yourself down to every agency in your area and tell them you will do anything. Do not be picky.
Also go to up your income section here. There are a few links floating around for companies that are looking over the christmas period. Post office and toy shops even supermarkets. Most of the links have online application forms.
Good luck remember you will only get out what you put in.

    HI

i would call every pub in your town and ask if they have any jobs they always need more people this time of year. Its hard work but worth it for the money.

    Hi Shane,
If you are not a full time college student then you should be able to get JSA, if you are full time you may be able to get ALG depending on your mum's wages etc.
    Good Luck
