Tummy Tuck

I have a friend who has lost considerable weight over the past 4 or 5 years and now wishes to have a tummy tuck. So here is the problem how do you find and know that a company is reputable? Ideally she would like a recommendation from someone she knows who says "Oh treated well, nice and clean, small scar" but as that is not likely to happen what should she be looking out for to know that the organisation is going to do a good safe job?

she has lost about half her body weight and it is to benefit her to make her feel more comfortable about herself as all the spare skin etc is around her tummy. she is well aware of risks and a bit weird about cleanliness and that is why i am asking what should she be looking out for and what kind of questions to ask.
should the organisation be a member of something? should there be a certain certification she should be looking for?? how do you know if its reputable or just out to take advantage??

jen there are a couple of sites around that give info and/or name plastic surgeons, some of which are in belgium or other countries as well as in uk... some of the people on the forums have had work done and recommend surgeons but it pays to do your own research thoroughly

if u do a search for plastic or cosmetic surgery forums uk you should come up with some stuff.. if not pm me and i will send u some links as i am not sure if i can put them here and dont want to appear to be recommendin anyone

it may be that yr friend will be able to manage with lipo... having lost over 7 stone myself its something i have been considering and am lookin into..

i know people think this is wrong but when you have worked very hard to lose a lot of weight its very hard when you still cant wear what you want cos of excess skin or fat that wont move no matter how hard u work

as i understand it a mini tummy tuck leaves u with a scar more the size of a caesarian but seems still a fairly serious op to me... again do some research

    good luck to your friend

    HTH xx
