Trying to clean up my credit file

Hi
I am trying to clear up my credit file, I have given myself to the end of 2009, I'll post a summary of each account and see if anyone can help me!!
CL Finance / GE Money SETTLED DEFAULT
I first complained about charges in May 2007, my account was defaulted in November 2007
I went to court for charges and PPI, they defended, the judge advised us to settled which we did, I paid half as they judge didn't agree with my charges complaint only the PPI.
I would like to get this settled default removed as I complained about the charges long before they defaulted me.
NatWest O/D Account DEFAULT (will offer 50% is for full an final settlement in Jan)
I first complained about charges in June 2006, my account was defaulted in January 2007
I started a claim in March 2007, they settled and paid up, at this point I didn't know I had been defaulted.
I would like to get this settled default removed as I complained about the charges long before they defaulted me.
HFC DEFAULT
They defaulted me after making an arrangement (I fell behind with 1 or 2 payment) which was less than the minimum payment. No default notice sent, I asked for a copy, one was sent but it was not specific to me, I only found out about this a few months ago.
I have found £553 in charges and interest. They offered 300 is as good will, I have acepted as a partial settelemt and I will persue for the rest plus default removal
Argos DEFAULT
CCA not properly prescribed, will not remove default
They are being very difficult since I reclaimed my charges
I have reported them to the Information Commissioners Office awaiting reply
I would like to start a claim soon
Ikano Financial Services
Three CCA requests not sent, only application forms recived
Barclaycard
CCA over 3 months late, only sent terms and conditions
Mercers harassing me for payments
I have reported them to OFCOM & OFT awaiting reply
La Redoute/Redcats
Confirmed they do not have a CCA for me, they will not remove info from CRA
I have complained to Information Commissioners Office, awaiting reply
Three Mobile DEFAULT 2005
Will pay off and get changed to settled, not much I can do here
CRA
Awaiting reply from Information Commissioners Office and OFT
Will send them a letter re Data Protection Act breaches and printing info that cannot be verified, Liable
Sorry it is so long!!!! Can anyone offer me any advice especially on CL Finance and NatWest as I disputed charges over 6 months before they defaulted me, also does anyone know where I can find info on the compensation of £1000 on wrongful defaults/defaults on unenforcable agreements?
Thanks in advance

I should also mention that my debt is currently about 4k 2k on a loan and 1k on 2 O/D's and £500 on 2 CC0

Just a quick reminder that defaults that you can't have edited/removed for whatever reason will sit on your credit history for six years. From the amount of notes you're querying, please be aware that it's unlikely you'll get them all removed.
For accounts where you have complained about charges etc., it doesn't mean that they have to remove default notices. Unless agreements weren't regulated by the Consumer Credit Act, you had agreed to contracts at the time (even if you disagreed with them at a later date!)
Best of luck tidying things up, but a few defaults left isn't the end of the world.
Remember too, that you can append small notes to your credit history explaining circumstances etc. (although there are regulations on exactly what you can put).0 -
Hi thanks for your response. I have read of many cases of people have been successful in getting defaults removed, people often think that once a default has been placed the it stays on there for 6 years but that is not always the case. It depends on what angle you fight your case which is why I'm asking around as some people here may know something useful which I don't.
There is no law that defaults must stay on credit files for 6 years; this is just the "industry standard" meaning one or a few organisations done this so now they all follow, only CCJ's have the authority from the court to stay on credit files for 6 years, Argos and others do not have the the same power as a judge even though they do like to think so.
Many thanks0 -
I didn't say that it was always the case - just that you sounded as if you had a lot to try and deal with
