best pc for under £250

I am looking for a PC (incl monitor) for under £250 which can do the following:

email, internet, playing music files and CDs, spreadsheets and word processing. Ideally Pentium 4 or better.

I had a look at dell and they seem to have a couple machines in this range. pricerunner had some suggestions but I am keen to hear your views of the matter?

I think you will struggle to get a pentium 4 for that. Dell has got a pretty good offer on the 1100 for around £290 which includes a 17" tft monitor. It is a celeron processor though.

Looks like the above will be about the best you can hope for.
Failing that, check out the usual avenues (ebuyer, Aldi, PC w***d etc)

You don't need a P4 - any current processor would be enough for what you want to do. You'd be better off getting a lower spec processor and leaving enough in the budget to increase the memory size.
